“You know him?!” John Watson stared at the Doctor in disbelief. Jim Moriarty was giving the Doctor a little wave.
“Well he was very small last time I saw him, wasn’t he?” The Doctor was looking Moriarty up and down nervously. “Little Stormageddon. Well…Alfred James, really. But I knew him as Stormy. He was cute! Pudgy even!”
“Who names a baby Stormageddon?” John demanded.
“Oh, he named himself that, I’m sure, John,” Sherlock said. “The Doctor can speak baby.”
“But…he’s a monster!” John continued to protest.
“Oh, the Doctor and I aren’t that different, you know,” Moriarty said with a grin.
“I highly doubt he is anything like you,” Sherlock sneered.
“Shows what you know, Sherlock. He’s hardly an innocent. Are you Doctor? I’ve heard all about what you’ve done. Dad always told stories about you, and then I got a little older and I did my research. The time war. Ooo you naughty boy. Daddy never mentioned that.” Moriarty let out a laugh.
“Time war?” John repeated.
“Oh yes, big old war. Darling Doctor here burned up his home planet to end it. Mass genocide.” Moriarty laugh. “Two entire species extinct because of him. Billions and billions of lives, burned up, screaming as the fire consumed them, and he the man holding the matches. It’s magnificent, isn’t it?”
The Doctor didn’t say anything.
“Don’t worry though, Sherlock. He’s on the side of the angels all the same. In the end he’s a coward. A Mad man with a box, trying to help people, and so very often failing at it.”
